Gums and Resins are among the natural resources in the Ewaso Ng’iro North River Basin with potential for generating wealth and uplifting the living standards of the local community in this region. Commercial gum Arabic is obtained from acacia Senegal or A. Seyal while gum resins are Myrrh from Commiphora Myrrha, Hagar from C. Holtiziana and frank incense from Boswelia Neglecta.
Most of the produce in Kenya are exported for use as preservative medicinal valve and cosmetic production.
ENNDA has established a gums and resins factory in Wajir to add valve to these produce by storage, cleaning sorting, grading packaging and labeling for commercial use either locality or internationally.
